Madame Frenchy
Our immersive stay
What I suggest ?
Have you ever thought of an immersive holiday in a foreign country, combining language discovery and cultural exchange? Well, that’s what Madame Frenchy offers you in the heart of the city of King René in Angers.
The aim of the stay
The aim is to get to grips with the almost imperceptible aspects of culture and language through immersion in a French family. Those aspects that can only be grasped through contact with the locals and their daily habits.
Course of events
The days start with breakfast at the family table. But the best part is the language and culture on offer! The mornings will be punctuated by 2 hours of French language workshops tailored to your expectations and your level as a traveller-learner, followed by time to chat over the preparation of meals at lunchtime. In the afternoon, you will have free time or time to visit with your host, where you can discover the beauties of our Loire Valley heritage, for example by cycling along the banks of the Loire.
My belief
Madame Frenchy is convinced that “travelling differently also means combining the pleasure of learning and meeting new people with the pleasure of wandering. Yes, living at the rhythm of nature, marvelling at the wealth of local culture and gastronomy, exchanging ideas, discovering the French language, coming together and enriching each other – that’s the promise Madame Frenchy makes to her visitors!

IMMERSIVE STAY IN ANGERS
Ideally located in the Loire Valley, Angers is a city of art and history, famous for its medieval castle, the favourite residence and city of the famous King René. This preference remains relevant today, as Angers has for several years now been voted “France’s No. 1 city in which to live” – that’s saying a lot! Yes, Angers is a pleasant town because of its climate, the beauty of its nature and its parks, and its privileged geographical location, which puts it one hour and a half from Paris by train and from the closest beaches of the Atlantic coast, not forgetting the most beautiful vineyards and châteaux of Anjou.
They have shared our home
Michelle MaloneyChristelle and her family were extremely kind and welcoming. She provided an option to act as a taxi service picking me up from Nantes airport or the Angers train station. I opted to take the train as an opportunity to practice my French. Christelle met me at the train station and drove me and my luggage to her home. Her home and the visitor accommodations are lovely and comfortable and include a private bedroom with a view of the beautiful garden as well as a closet, full length mirror, and desk. There was also a lovely bathroom with bathtub, shower, and hair dryer and a toilette down the hall. I had some time to rest after travel and then we got together to discuss plans for the week. We decided on morning lessons and Christelle provided a great brochure of the area to help on selecting outings during the week. Overall it was a fantastic combination of language learning, cultural experience, local tourism, and free time for rest or solo activities. Christelle was very good at checking in with me about how much French vs English we were using and how I was doing and also took the time to teach me new phrases and concepts and translate conversations during our outings. There was a grocery shop just a few minutes walk down the street which also had toiletries. Angers also had a great bus and rail system which made it very easy to explore. Christelle and her family were fantastic hosts and everyone was very kind and encouraging in my learning. This experience is such a gem and I highly recomend it to anyone considering no matter what your level of language familiarity. I would absolutely do this again.Alar KaardChère Christelle et famille merci beaucoup de m’avoir accueilli chez vous . Cela a été un privilège rare et un moment inoubliable et précieux pour moi.merci infiniment, AlarLiza Serna"Madame Frenchy" or Mrs. Christelle was an AMAZING host during my time in France! Her and her family were super welcoming and loving. They made my experience the best it could have been!! I learned so much about the French culture and history, it has made me want to come back and visit often! If you are nervous about France I would recommend staying here. They do a great job of explaining everything and making you feel comfortable while being somewhere new. During my stay in Angers I would say it felt like Christelle and her family felt like my home away from home. You could not have a better experience anywhere else!Lynnwood CampbellThere is not enough that I could say to thank and praise Christelle. I was the first foreign student that she graciously welcomed into her home with her family for an extended period of time back in 2018. My time with them is one that I will never forget and always look upon with cherished memories. The amount of care and intention that her and her family put towards me was one that was so above and beyond that I truly am at a loss for words. Looking back at all of the experiences through true immersion in France is truly unforgettable and without a doubt, a once in a lifetime experience. Christelle is such a kind and understanding person and it shows through everyone around her, even their dog Venus ^.^ This is something you can't miss !Maggie LynchI loved my stay with Christelle, Madame Frenchy!! She is such a knowledgeable person and truly so caring. I felt instantly welcomed in her home by her family. She also loves teaching and she is always ready to explain something I don’t understand. It’s so cool to see how a French family lives, speaks and enjoys life together! I highly recommend!
